The Records Division is responsible for maintaining and keeping police reports, citations, bookings and other paperwork. They are also responsible for staffing the PBX and assisting the public at the front counter.
In 1968, the California Legislature enacted the California Public Records Act (CPRA) under Government Code (GC) sections 6250-6270. In its findings and declarations, mindful of the right of individuals' privacy, the Legislature declared it was the public’s right to access information concerning the people’s business.
Fingerprinting:
Fingerprinting is available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There is a $10.00 fee for fingerprinting. The South Pasadena Police Department does not provide Immigration print cards; they must be obtained from Immigration. The Department does not offer Live Scan fingerprinting at this time, but look for these services coming towards the end of the year.
Reports:
Copies of reports are usually available 7-10 working days from the date of the report was taken. To request a copy of a report, please fill out the form on the "Form" page and either mail or deliver it in person to the police department. There is a .10 cent charge per page for the report.
Clearance Letters:
Clearance Letters can be obtained for $20.00. A driver's license is needed and only a local city check is completed.
Vehicle Releases:
Vehicle Releases can be made ONLY to the registered owner of the vehicle and to a licensed driver. There is a $95.00 fee for the release and payment can be made with cash only.
CitationCorrection/Fix-it Tickets:
There is a $24.00 fee to inspect any vehicles that require a correction. Refer to the back of citation for details.
Animal Traps:
Animal Traps are no longer available through the city. For animal control services, please contact the Pasadena Humane Society: 361 So. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105 or call the Humane Society at (626) 792-7151.
Restraining Orders:
Restraining Orders can be obtained from the Pasadena Courthouse 200 North Garfield, Pasadena, CA or call the courthouse at (626) 356-5689.
