Waste Reduction Awards Program

The 2009 Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) application cycle is now open!!

California businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to showcase their voluntary waste reduction, recycling, and resource conservation efforts by applying for recognition in the California Integrated Waste Management Board’s 2009 Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP).  The WRAP award program was established in 1993 and honors California businesses and nonprofit organizations for innovation and leadership in waste reduction, waste prevention, recycling, reuse, and buying recycled-content products.

The WRAP application will be accepted through June 15, 2009.  The application is available online at www.ciwmb.ca.gov/WRAP/ . For more information, please call (916) 341-6199. or contact the Board’s WRAP Program Coordinator at wrap@ciwmb.ca.gov

The WRAP of The Year (WOTY) or the Cal Recycle Award is no longer in existence, however there is a new category (Waste Reduction) on the Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award (GEELA) application website.  GEELA is California’s highest environmental honor and can be located at www.calepa.ca.gov/awards/geelaThe WRAP application webpage has a link to this program.
