The Public Works Department is responsible for streets, public buildings, water, sewer systems, street lighting and park maintenance. |
Streets & Parks |
- Park Maintenance division maintains the City's parks and playgrounds in safe and attractive condition. In addition, it maintains trees in parkways along public streets. The Department regulates the triming and removal of trees in the City of South Pasadena. Click here for Tree Regulations.
- Facilities Maintenance is the division responsible for the routine maintenance, repairs and minor modifications to all City owned buildings.

Maintenance of Streetscapes: Municipal streetscapes are an oft-forgotten portion of the City’s developed open space system. These landscaped corridors provide daily open space relief to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, and add to the character of the city. The City is known as the “City of Trees” with over 21,000 street trees and nature vegetation presenting a lush and kept appearance. The city strives maintain and enhance this landscaped heritage through sensitive design, appropriate regulations, and adequate funding.
